Career Coaching

Facing a career challenge?

  • Thinking about your next move?
  • Furloughed or facing redundancy?
  • Wanting a complete career change?
  • Not sure whether to leave or stay where you are?
  • Looking for your first real job?
  • Preparing for job search

Making choices about how you want to spend your working life can be challenging at the best of times.  We often turn to those closest to us for advice and encouragement and while their intent is well meant, it is often clouded by their own fears about what is possible rather than what is right for you.

The only person who really knows what is right for you is..... YOU!

How career coaching can help

Having someone who understands how the employment market works can be a sound investment, giving you faster and easier access to the ins and outs of the recruitment industry and helping you maximise your job search.  Addressing your mind set as you explore possibilities can reduce the stress and worry that often accompanies major life changes.

If you have never worked with a Career Coach before, here are some of the benefits you can enjoy:

  • FLEXIBILITY – based on your goals you get an individually designed coaching programme built around your specific needs
  • EXPERT RESOURCES – access to local knowledge, insights and resources to help you maximise your job search efforts
  • PRACTICAL SUPPORT - help with developing essential job search skills and resources such as building a personal brand, producing  marketing materials (CV, Linkedin etc), networking, researching potential employers, interview techniques, assessment centres etc
  • PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT – increasing your self-awareness of your unique strengths, skills and added value and how to maximise these to secure employment
  • CHEERLEADER - a friendly, non-judgmental ally who can give you emotional support and encouragement through difficult times (yes, it can get hard and frustrating…) and help you work out how to handle the well-intentioned advice/pressures from friends and family

While no-one can guarantee success in any job market, having a Career Coach can give you access to information, advice and resources that can make your career transition faster, easier and less stressful than doing it on your own.

A typical programme can help you:

  • understand what a potential employer is really looking for
  • identify what your personal work 'value proposition' is so you can align with employers' needs and get their attention
  • decide what steps you need to take to achieve a successful career transition
  • access practical tools to do the job
  • understand your mindset and what helps/hinders a successful job transition
  • access practical and emotional support through the transition process

What to expect

Depending on your needs and how much you want to invest, activities can include some, or all, of the following:
